Refrigerator’s Crisper Drawer

Say goodbye to waste by learning how to correctly utilize your crisper drawer! These home storage solutions will extend the life of your fruits and veggies by controlling the airflow via vents.

  • High Humidity- Close off the airflow
    • Leafy greens, beans, cucumbers, asparagus, broccoli and celery

  • Medium Humidity
    • Tomatoes and citrus fruits

  • Low Humidity – Open the airflow allowing gas to escape, preventing fruits from rotting too quickly.
    • Garlic, onions, and squash

Helpful Hints:

Grains, nuts and seeds should always be stored in the freezer.

Bread products can be frozen but not refrigerated as this will encourage the growth of mold.
